Supporting remotely
What async support can and cannot do — and how to set expectations.
Remote support works when expectations are explicit. ExposurePal messages are asynchronous — better for planning, reflection, and brief check-ins than urgent help. Make sure the person knows your usual response window.
Small, concrete support still matters from a distance. You can send a place idea, remember what has worked before, or help review what happened after the person returns. These do not require real-time availability.
If someone needs immediate help or clinical guidance, this tool is not the right channel. Keep emergency contacts and clinical care separate from day-to-day supporter messages.
